The Need for IASC

While most believe that  the law should apply to all individuals equally, the truth is that those without legal representation  are less successful.  Legal costs can exceed $5,000+ per filing with a private law firm.  IASC ensures equal treatment under the law for local residents, regardless of financial status.  IASC is the only non-profit in Southeast Connecticut providing legal immigration guidance: other organizations are located an hour or more away and are inaccessible to local immigrants.

FAIR

Fee Assistance for Immigrant Relief

U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS) filing fees for immigration cases are prohibitively high for many low-income residents, ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars.  IASC's FAIR Fund provides direct assistance with fees allowing our immigrant neighbors to reserve limited resources for food and housing.  Thank you to donors on behalf of the many individuals and their families who have benefited from FAIR.

Education

IASC educates the community and service providers on immigration law and pathways to citizenship.

Legal Assistance

IASC provides services on a sliding fee scale so that all residents can access expert immigration legal guidance.

IASC asks - Could you pass a Citizenship Test?
You must answer 6 out of 10 questions correctly - the 10 are taken at random from 100 possible questions!  Try these 3:
