Illinois Republican Incumbents Defy Party On Immigration

KirkandDoldTwo Republican members of Congress from Illinois will resist their party’s platform on immigration Wednesday as they highlight their support for a pathway to citizenship for many of the nation’s 11 million undocumented immigrants. Senator Mark Kirk and Representative Bob Dold will be coming together to discuss how to create a path to citizenship for undocumented workers. Both republicans no longer endorse Donald Trump after Trump made various, illogical decisions and many negative comments on Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain’s record as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War.

Hillary Clinton Supports Immigration Reform

5-important-steps-feed-cover-780x520Hillary Clinton’s perspective on immigration reform is very positive and clear. Republican candidate Donald Trump, on the other hand, displays a negative view and threatens to take away the rights of many immigrants. For the millions of people living in the United States illegally, Trump plans to deport all of them. However, it would be very impractical to deport them all.

“If we claim we are family, then we have to pull together and resolve the outstanding issues around our broken immigration system,” said Clinton. Clinton believes that deportation should be used only on individuals who pose a violent threat to public safety. Immigration reform will help grow the economy and keep families together, which Clinton believes is the right thing to do. She has been committed to the immigrant rights community throughout her career. If elected president, she will work to fix America’s broken immigration system and stay true to its fundamental values. Clinton plans to introduce comprehensive immigration reform with a pathway to full and equal citizenship within her first 100 days in office, if elected.
